My new book, You’re Still Here: Surviving the Death of Your Child is now available through Amazon in paperback and Kindle (click here for paperback and click here for Kindle). This book comes from my heart, and is written specifically to help parents who have lost a child as well as the family and friends who are helping the parent grieve.
This book was a labor of love; while there are plenty of books out there on stillbirths, miscarriages, and child death, I never found one that spoke to me as a person. My goal with You’re Still Here was to speak from the heart as a father and offer some wisdom, insight and understanding to those who’ve lost a child – or know someone who has.
Of my books, this one is the most personal, and the one I’m most passionate about. I hope it gets to the people who need it most.
Nothing prepares you for the death of your child. Whether a miscarriage, stillbirth, or death outside the womb, the pain of losing your own is almost intolerable. And when you find yourself int he midst of the grieving process, when your world is upside-down and threatening to spin beyond your control, how can you hope to find solid ground?
Or maybe it’s not you who lost a child; maybe it’s your sister, your co-worker, your daughter. Maybe you’re watching helplessly from the sidelines as someone you love with all of your heart struggles with an overwhelming reality you can’t begin to fathom. What do you say? What do you do? How can you possibly offer any kind of meaningful help?
You’re Still Here is written by a father whose first child was stillborn five days after her due date. He knows the path of grief that a driving parent must walk. As a pastor, he also knows the path that the friends and emily must take as well. He knows what’s ahead of you, and wants you to know you’re not alone.
Written with honesty and simplicity, You’re Still Here offers insights on surviving one of life’s difficult experiences: the death of your child.
